Jasmine Green Tea
Fuzhou, Fujian, China
Many people are familiar with jasmine green tea as the ubiquitous tea served at asian restaurants here in the west. But as soon as you see these Jade Earrings, it is clear they are a step above. The attention to detail is apparent in the shape of the leaves, gently rolled into small, delicate rings. And when you brew it, it's clear the flavour is a step above as well- the floral jasmine scent is distinct without being overwhelming, a result of seven rounds of enclosing the tea leaves with bloomed jasmine flowers. Additional subtle notes of licorice, anise and peach add sweetness and complexity.
